Here, we propose how conservation operates in the course of the bottleneck period of a rustic or area’s growth, when pressures are increasing, and how conservation would possibly evolve once pressures have begun to stabilize and finally lower after the breakthrough. If society had been to focus only on limiting economic development to protect nature (sensu Meadows et al. 2004 )
