In 1870, Norheim introduced a prototype of the Telemark skateboard. The skateboard is made narrower, shorter and more curved on the sides. By the 1880s, the demand for Norwegian skis increased, a new type of skateboard introduced in 1881, which had an ash base and a pine top and was exported to Sweden 1882.
Also in 1882 the wooden trade boards appeared in Norway, this wood made the skis thinner and more flexible. Norwegian Christiansen continued to develop the skateboard with the release of the first double-layered plank in 1893, followed by the introduction of the three-ply plank by Bjørn Ullevoldsaeter.
