Mental and Shay chased the two idiots over and caught up with them at a motel that night. Mental, disguised as a hitchhiker, met Harry and Lloyd and was greeted by the two, while Shay secretly watched them. In a stop for lunch, two idiots played a prank on Mental by pouring a jar of super hot peppers into his hamburger without knowing that Metal had a stomach ulcer. As a result, Metal suffers from anaphylaxis, causing the duo to give him some rat poison pills – what they thought were candies and accidentally killed him on the spot (though Metal originally intended to take those pills to harm them).
Since they were near Colorado, the two decided to get in the car there but Lloyd accidentally went the wrong way and all night turned around and returned to the direction they were from before, while the police were expecting them on their way to Colorado and expecting them give information about Mental’s death. After escaping from the police and realizing the mishaps on the journey, Harry decided to give up and walk home, but then Lloyd persuaded him to return because he had exchanged the van for a mini motorbike (minibike) saves money on toll fees.
