Cats have a third eyelid, which is a thin film that appears when the cat’s eyes are open. These membranes usually close slowly when the cat is sick, but they are very obvious when the cat is sleepy. If a cat has had a clear third eyelid since birth, that means it must see a veterinarian.
Cat eyes come in a variety of colors, but the common ones are yellow, green, and orange. Blue eyes also appear in Siamese cats, but also in albino cats. If an albino cat has blue eyes it is common to be deaf; however, orange eyes also indicate a problem with its ears. Albino cats with one blue eye and one orange eye are as deaf as cats with blue eyes.
